Guild Headquarters For Job Classes

Postby HesteVader » July 24th, 2014, 4:17 pm

We have job classes (Adventurer, Supplier, Forester, Constructor and Miner), and within the job classes there are tiers I, II and III. Each job has a kit and a set of commands. “Great! Now, what do we do?” you ask. You can unite and find ways to use your job titles, kits and skills. What is each job class lacking? An actual “guild” and (in most cases) a place of their own – a Guild Headquarters – where they can meet, share skills, share resources (if they choose) and set up a shop for trading from their storage facility, even have mob pits and (soon) pvp battles in their own arenas.

A site in a survival world has been chosen for each guild which is appropriate for the job type. Each guild headquarters has a region and a warp. The guilds already have buildings, but the buildings are not ready to be called “Headquarters” and need to have the rooms defined with some furnishing and decorations.

Each guild’s headquarters includes: storage area, enchanting room, alchemy room, nether portal, player rooms, mines, mob pit and fight arena. We suggest that each member has his own set of chests, marked with signs to prevent issues. Also, you will need to develop the area around the guild headquarters to apply your trade. Maybe you’ll want practice grounds for creating things with the contents of your kits. Maybe you can grow your crops to feed your guild, taking turns planting and harvesting. Maybe you would like to raise cattle for the use of your guild. You may also set up a shop for trading, if you like. The guild headquarters are not meant to be villages with houses all around, but rather a single unit as a base for your guild. Within its boundaries, you can gather and replenish resources to use or to trade.

In the sub-section of the “Builders Union” forum, there is now a “Job Class Guilds” sub forum ( http://minecraft.softegg.com/forums2/viewforum.php?f=83 ). Each guild will have its own thread for posting guild information: announcements for guild members; ideas for projects, etc. Each job class should either have a player/member volunteer to be its leader or, if more than one wants the role, vote on a leader by using a poll (ask an Admin to set it up), or have an oligarchy  . The leader may help organize the furnishing of the guild meeting place, as well as brainstorm with guild members about missions and goals. (Example of a mission would be gathering materials for a specific project or to store, or venturing out to find locations for guild outposts. Goals may include having the guild house finished by a certain date.) Players from all job classes may visit the various headquarters, but will not have perms there, except in the PvP arena.

When a player buys a job in your guild’s job class, he/she will be added to the headquarters permissions and allowed used of its facilities. A guild member should meet with the new member and show them the building and any vacant space the player may be able to occupy, plus give them the guild rules, if any.

We want to make it clear that you do not have to join a guild just because you are in a job class, but you may join your guild at a later date, if you like. If you prefer to be a loner, or even to start your own group, that’s cool. Some players have started headquarters and may prefer to use those, or the existing builds could be the very first guild outposts. We just want the guilds and their respective headquarters to be an ongoing thing for current job holders and for future ones as well.

Please speak to a staff member to have yourself added to the headquarters of your guild. Also, members of other job classes may visit all guild headquarters to have a look. This way, they may decide what their next job will be! :D

Have fun and enjoy your guilds and headquarters!

The warps can be found by typing /warps in-game, or use these:
/warp AdventurersHQ
/warp ConstructorsHQ
/warp ForestersHQ
/warp MinersHQ
/warp SuppliersHQ

Some more ideas for the guild headquarters you might want to include are:

1. A map wall for the region.
2. An info board with your job's commands, using signs.
3. A kit contents wall, showing what each level of your job class gets in the kit.
4. You could have a "Members" wall, but of course that would always be changing and someone would need to keep it up.
5. If your guild is going to have rules, you should post them on a wall, too.
6. You could also have a "Missions" board.
7. What about a "Suggestion" board?
8. Build a statue

For the "Build a statue" We could have a steve statue outside of each hq holding a item to do with the job for example miner could have a pickaxe in his hand i don't really know what item supplier would be holding though? just a suggestion but i think this could be a pretty cool thing to have outside the hq

Fun idea, turts! I think maybe each guild could come up with something for their Steve to hold in his hand. Up to each guild, though :)

I could make a kit contents wall in all of the Guilds, I could just copy what I made for the Kit Guide.
Thanks,
Cyl

That would be excellent, cat!

Also, BobKyle already made maps for each guild headquarters. Thanks, BobKyle!

james1431997 had a great idea for the guild HQs: make an "Inner Sanctum" for each guild which only guild members will be able to enter.

Excellent idea and it is now a reality (as reality as a non-reality world will allow.) :D

If you have trouble finding your guild's Inner Sanctum, ask a staff member to show you. All are marked with signs which say "Inner Sanctum ~ [guild name] Members Only"

Also, thanks to cylindricalcat for putting up kit content walls at each of the guild headquarters! Nice work, cat!

Keep the suggestions coming!
